And so onto the finished product.  A little over two months after arrival, the rejuvinated model was unveiled as number 1000 (OHF858S) in Merseyside PTE colours.  


Well known on the preservation scene, this 1978 built National has itself undergone an extensive restoration in recent years and the model depicts the vehicle in it's present day roadworthy condition.  Very few of the original Merseyside PTE mk1 Leyland Nationals survive.


Authentic route 4A blinds were fitted showing Botanic Gardens as the destination.  A subtle nod to the Isle of Wight as it had initially been the intention to paint a Southern Vectis example in leaf green/white stripe livery.
